DATES & DEADLINES - February 2023

February is a pretty quiet month in retirement plan administration, gearing up for March’s deadlines. While testing season continues, there are only two dates you need to be aware of (and these two are most often handled by your recordkeeping partner):

February 14th is the deadline for 4th quarter statements to be provided to participants.

February 28th is the deadline for filing Form 1099-R with the IRS if filing non-electronically (electronic filers have until March 31st) to report participant distributions from a qualified plan in 2022.
