Christina Tunison, AIF®, CPFA®, NQPA
Christina Tunison is a seasoned LPL Financial Advisor and Retirement Plan Consultant with LPL Financial, bringing years of expertise to organizations and their employees. Her career in financial services began humbly as a bank teller while in college, eventually evolving into a specialization in guiding organization executives to meet their responsibilities as retirement plan sponsors and empowering employees to prepare for a secure financial future.
With a robust career spanning respected institutions such as Bank of America, T. Rowe Price, Principal Financial Group, and Mercer (a Marsh McLennan company), Christina has developed a comprehensive understanding of retirement plan design and administration. Her expertise spans Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Deferred Compensation/Non-qualified, and Executive Benefit plans, allowing her to tailor solutions that meet diverse organizational and employee needs.
Christina holds an array of professional designations and licenses that underline her commitment to excellence, including the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA), and Nonqualified Plan Advisor (NQPA) credentials. She also maintains FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 66, and 24 registrations through LPL Financial, along with a Maryland Resident Life and Health Insurance License.
A sought-after industry speaker and thought leader, Christina has graced the stage at events like the NAPA 401(k) Summit, the ERISA 403(b) Conference, SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) state conferences, and the Advisor2x Wealth@Wor(k) Conference. Her ability to break down complex topics and engage diverse audiences highlights her value as a trusted advisor and educator in the field.
Christina has twice been recognized as a Top Women Advisor by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), in 2023 and 2024. This recognition is awarded by a panel of judges scoring responses to a questionnaire including both quantitative and qualitative assessments. She also actively contributes to advancing the industry as a Board Member of WIPN (We Inspire. Promote. Network. formerly Women in Pensions Network) and as a participant in NAPA’s THRIVE Women’s Mentoring Program.
Outside of the retirement industry, Christina sits on the Steering Committee for B Local Mid-Atlantic part of the B Corporation community.
A fifth-generation Washingtonian, Christina is deeply committed to her community, frequently volunteering and supporting local initiatives. In her downtime, she enjoys cheering on local sports teams, the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, reading, and spending quality time with her family and dogs.
