September has come in with a heat wave on the East Coast, but it’s otherwise pretty quiet from a plan sponsor viewpoint. As you look forward, if you did not file your 5500 yet and requested an extension, you’ve only got a couple weeks before the extended deadline is upon on, so don’t take your eyes off the goal.

September  15 is the deadline for

  • S-Corporations and partnership plan sponsors that filed a tax extension to make 2022 employer profit-sharing and matching contributions. 

  • Form 5500 due to the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) from plans eligible for an automatic extension linked to a tax extension.
